the edges. If the fabric you use demands it, you also have to hem
the edges, but the fabric has to be very thin, then. |

The
length of the fabric corresponds to the doll's height. The minimum
width also equals the height of the doll. If you would like rather
long sleeves increase the width, but the wider the sleeves the thinner
the fabric, like voile.

Fold
1/3 of the fabric as demonstrated in the drawing. Put the doll on
the middle of the fabric, fold once more so that the side-edges
meet. Fasten the edges together with a pin. It makes it easier to
deal with the rest and is later removed.

Fasten
the back and front with a pin at each shoulder. Put the doll's arms
through the sleeve-holes, adjust if need be, but make sure the sleeve-holes
are equally large. If you are a handy person, you could fasten the
dress at the shoulders with some kind of small buckles. We have
just sewn on plastic pearls to hold the dress together at the shoulders.

| Now
remove the pin which hold together the edges on the right side of
the doll, winde a band or two around Barbie's waist, and the dress
should now be finished. |
